ZERINTIA’s solution 4INDUSTRY takes part in the DAR project of Airbus Defense and Space

proyecto DAR de Airbus
Airbus launches a project based on new technologies to revolutionize the aircraft maintenance. The DAR project combines the advantages of new technologies, the use of Drones, Augmented Reality and Artificial Intelligence.

Inspections with Drone and Augmented Reality provide maintenance, repair and overhaul operators (MRO) with an end-to-end digital solution that facilitates the performance of tasks, while ensuring quality and compliance with airworthiness standards.

The Augmented Reality and Virtual help facilitate the decision-making process, reducing the time of execution of tasks. Zerintia, has worked jointly with Airbus in the development of digital instructions and remote expert support to improve maintenance tasks.

The use of new technologies, provides a precise positioning for the detection of potential defects in the aircraft inspected.

Inspection times and ease of operations are greatly improved, thanks to the use of devices such as smart glasses, tablets and computer equipment.

As an example, an external inspection based on unmanned aircraft of a large plane like the A400M (with a total length of 45 meters) would take only two hours with the use of new technologies, while the same process requires weeks with traditional methods.
The augmented and virtual reality will also play an important role in the next step, process the captured information and determine potential actions based on identified defects, discrepancies and damages that are discovered in the aircraft.
