Frailty is a complex syndrome of increased vulnerability and reduced functional reserve associated with the ageing process, chronic conditions, and modulated by life course events, social and psychological factors.
What the project consists of
FRAIL is a project carried out by six partners at the European level to help people with frailty. It consists of using new technologies to offer a solution capable of advising and monitoring patients, to reduce risk factors and increase the factors that protect health over the course of life.
To make this possible, each of the partners has brought its experience and applied technologies to this scenario. From Zerintia, we have collaborated with 4RTH, a comprehensive solution based on the use of wearable devices to remotely assess and monitor patients with chronic diseases in real time.
The solution enables doctors to collect data from patients and, if necessary, direct them to the appropriate medical resources. 4RTH also provides the patient with relevant information and instructions from qualified medical personnel. The three main pillars for assessment and follow-up are related to pharmaceuticals, daily habits and vital signs.
The project brings benefits not only to people in situations of frailty, but also to caregivers who are unable to provide continuous support and to companies involved in the management of nursing homes and day care centers.
