Digital end-to-end logistics

Digital end-to-end logistics

Digital end-to-end logistics. Concepts such as picking, kitting or put away are common in the intralogistics sector. Picking, also known as ‘pick and pack’, consists of the preparation of orders using a series of steps that speed up the process. Fundamentally: reception of the order, selection and collection of the elements, packing of the articles and programming of the shipment.

Digital end-to-end logistics
Kitting, on the other hand, is the process of putting together the different pieces that make up a product to create a kit or package. Once this is done, it is sent to the next stage of the process where warehouse operators proceed to assemble it.

Finally, ‘put away’ consists of placing the items in the correct place in the plant or warehouse to avoid problems with other processes that are taking place.

Integral digital logistics by vision

The concept ‘by vision’ provides the operator with an electronic device, usually Augmented Reality Glasses, where he receives information that he can see directly in his field of vision and which is applicable to different internal logistics processes, including those mentioned above.

Digitalisation of internal logistics operations

The digitalisation of internal logistics operations allows the employee to be connected to receive the necessary transport orders at all times and to generate the traceability of all operations:

– Entry of materials
– Supply to the production line
– Inventory management and valuation
– Transport of product between stations
– Withdrawal of product from the end of the line
– Dispatch of finished product

More specifically, and linked to the concepts at the beginning of the article, integrated digital logistics allows the optimisation of these picking, kitting and put away processes, as well as the entry, exit and classification of goods, route selection and location of products in the warehouse.
