Zerintia Technologies´ technology made possible the retransmission of a surgery with multiple cameras connected in the operating room, including the participation of a remote expert outside the operating room, in the Althaia Xaraxa Universitària Foundation Hospital in Manresa.
The operation, a laparoscopic cholecystectomy, was performed using the 4REMOTE Health solution that enables real-time communication with experts anywhere in the world by sharing video and audio.
The surgeons who participated in the intervention were Dr. Pablo Collera, Dr. Lorena Sanchon, Dr. Roser Farré (project leader) and Dr. Bartomeu Ayala.
In this fragment of the video of the surgery, you can see the screen of the expert who was connected from outside the operating room connected to the 4REMOTE Health Solution.
The images show the retransmission of three of the cameras that were broadcasting:
Surgeon's Smart Glasses (upper right picture).
Operating room camera (upper left picture).
Laparoscopic camera (lower left picture).
Expert's camera (lower left picture "ER", in the image it is off).
The video shows how 4REMOTE Health allows you to exchange the view of the connected devices, with all the videos in mosaic mode, or by showing only one video. Augmented Reality also allows you to zoom, mark up on the shared video, add text, share documentation and other utilities to facilitate collaboration and interaction between professionals in different locations.
